After the Second World War, the complex on Corno d’Aola was expanded with smaller training hills – the K60 and an even smaller one (often listed as K15) – located directly next to the main ski jump. The K60 was one of the first hills in Italy to be equipped with plastic matting, allowing ski jumping in summer. Traces of these facilities still exist today — although the entire complex went out of use around 1966, the remains are still visible in the landscape.
Their construction resulted from the need to create a training base in the Ponte di Legno ski centre for less experienced jumpers and for summer seasons, and it formed part of the post-war development of sport in Val Camonica and the activities of the Sci Club Ponte di Legno.
