On March 13, 1932 the ski jumping hill at Steinbach near Jöhstadt was inaugurated, situated at Lämmel above Schaft pond. It was not a large hill, but it was the contrubution of local "Deutscher Turn- und Sportverein" to up-rising ski jumping activities. Skiers from Steinbach and surrounding villages organized their own competitions on the hill.
The ski jump had a natural profile and existed until 1945, then it was given up to the prohibition of organized clubs and not re-used again afterwards. In mid 1950's the area of Schaft pond was converted into a public pool, thus a re-construction of the hill was made impossible.

Schanze Jöhstadt
Bin im Besitz einer Plakette
"Schanzenweihe Jöhstadt 1930 1. Preis"
Das würde bedeuten, daß Jöhstadt doch auch eine eigene Schanze hatte!?
Schanzentisch
Der Schanzentisch wurde nicht abgerissen; er ist als Steinbauwerk im Wald noch vorhanden.
