In middle 1920’s ski jumping activities at Aschau started at Hochfeld and then at Häffnerbichl the very first real ski jumping hill was constructed, which was opened on 1930-02-16. The 30 meter hill had a total height of 42 m and a 2 meters high take-off. In the following years ski jumping came up very much and had a great boost, but declined with the up-coming National Socialist dictatorship.
After World War II on 1949-01-16 the new 50 meter hill on the Hochfeld was inaugurated. Then in 1952 the old “Schanze am Häffnerbichl” was reactivated as a 30 meter youth ski jumping hill. Until 1970’s numerous championships have been hosted at Aschau, in 1964 even DSV eagle Max Bolkart went over the bakken. Afterwards mainly cross-country skiing became more and more popular and famous and ski jumping activities on Hochfeld-Schanze were stopped, the Bavarian Youth Championships in 1986 were the last competition at Aschau.
In 2002 at Sachrang the four Priental-Schanzen K38, K28, K12, K5 were constructed in cooperation with local WSV and since Aschau jumpers are jumping there.
