History:

At Chippewa River, which leads 50 miles south into Mississippi, already before 1910 one of the first large ski jumping hills of Wisconsin was standing in the homonymous town. Its impressive inrun tower was a magnet that attained tenthousand spectators for the grand competition in 1911, in which the best ski jumpers of the Midwest took part. But during this contest it were the youngsters who elated, because the big favourite Anders Haugen was only second behind an unknown young German called Franz Kempe. The longest jumps of the concurrency were realized by only 14-year-old Melvin Hendricksen with 131 ft. and before 129 ft. of 15-year-old Teddy Larsen. This event was commented on by the local press as follows: “The Young Boys slipped one over the pofessionals!“ In the same winter Oscar Gunderson jumped a hill record of 138 ft.
This ski jump shall have been standing until the early 1930’s.

World Record

I, with world records would advise to remove Oscar Gunderson, Harald Smith because he had more than he.

Thank's for all the hints, the data for this hill was quite in a mess...

Skoro skocznia została wybudowana w 1910, to dlaczego Oscar Gunderson ustanowił rekord w 1909?
