History:

In Mezhdurechensk ski jumping has been practised professionally since the late 1960s. In 1968 Vladimir Rybakonov, a graduate of the local pedagogical university, came to town and built up a training facility on the slope of Jugus mountain by himself. In 1976, 40- and 60-metre ski jumps were built and in 1981, within the framework of the 5th RFSSR Winter Olympics of Nations, 70- and 90-metre facilities (later renamed K92 and K125). At the foot of the mountain there was a three-storey Alpine-style lodge with rooms for coaches, showers, a medical station, a rehabilitation centre and a 40-bed hotel. In 1985, an plastic covering was laid on the two ski jumping hills, making summer training possible. In 1991 it was decided to open a sports school for children and youngsters specialising in ski jumping and Nordic combined.
Over the next three decades, the condition of all the facilities gradually deteriorated, although they continued to host national competitions until the first half of 2010. However, with each passing year, there were fewer and fewer starts in Mezhdurechensk. In May 2018, the K62 was repaired and its official opening ceremony was held on 23 August. Thanks to the reconstruction, the facility gained igelite covering, giving the possibility for year-round training and competitions at different levels.
A graduate of the local school, Anton Kalinichenko, took part in the 2002 Olympic Games in Salt Lake City. In 2023, another renovation of the K40 and K62 hills was carried out on the occasion of the "Children of Asia" International Games. A new chairlift was built, the judges' and coaches' tower, the social facilities were renovated and the cost of the preparatory work was more than 400 million roubles.
