History:

Nayoro is situated in the far north of Hokkaido island, i.e. in the far north of Japan, too. The ski jumping hills are located below Mount Piyashiri, next to Nayoropiyashiri ski area, and can be reached in about 15 minutes from the city centre by car. The K45 hill has already been deconstructed, but the K90 & K65 hills are still in use and are regularily hosting national competitions. In 2001 and 2004 the World Cups of Nordic Combined were hosted in Nayoro.
