History:

The Nordic skiing section of SG Langenchursdorf was founded in 1962 and afterwards the first ski jumping hill was built at Hellmannsgrund. In 1974 the Pionierflugschanze was added to the ski jumping facility. It was inaugurated in 1975 and subsequently Saxonian Langenchursdorf became an important nordic training center in former GDR. Every year a competition for the „Töpferpokal“ (potter’s cup) of neighbouring potter’s city Waldenburg was hosted there. The very last competition took place in 1989.
