On New Year’s Day 1932 the “Turner und Sportbund“ Röhrsdorf inaugurated the Turnerschanze. The first winter sports festival on the ski jump with steel inrun tower and stone-made take-off took place on 1932-01-17 with distances up to 13 m. After the National Socialists coming into power in 1933 the ski jump in the district of Chemnitz was shut down and destructed just as most of “Turnerschanzen” constructed by workers sports clubs.
