History:

The first ski jumping hill in “Kessel” near Bad Elster was set up in 1924, on 1959-01-11 the new K35 ski jump was inaugurated, later the further ski jumping hills and conversions followed. In 1998-1999 the K17 was new-constructed and K28 and K45 were equipped with new metal inrun tracks.
Still today the Ski Team of SG Medizin Bad Elster is actively using Elsterschanzen, which are located only a few hundred meters from the Czech border. It was also the start place for the career of Heinz Wosipiwo, ski flying world record holder in 1973.
