History:

On January 24, 1926 the Geipelschanze at Saxonian Augustusburg was inaugurated. In 1931 large conversion was made and then the jumped allowed jumps on more than 30 meters. On this in its time by the press constituted “ultra-modern facility”, already along the landing hill terraced spectator stands were installed. Due to reforestation measures in early 1950’s ski jumping activities had to be stopped, so that at Augustusburg today only a summer luge trail and alpine skiing slope are existing.
