History:

Beneath Schauinsland, which is the 1284 meter high home-mountain of Freiburg, the first ski jumping hill was constructed at Haldenköpfle in 1930's. After World War II the newly founded SV Schauinsland restored the 30 meter hill and Haldenköpfleschanze was inaugurated in 1952. One year later a challenge cup competition was established. After the wooden inrun structure had collapsed, it was replaced by a dirt hill in 1963. At the same time a lift and alpine skiing area were established, which can still be used today, but lead to a declining interest in ski jumping. Today the former ski jumping hill is hardly recognizable.
