History:

In the 1948/49 season the first 25-meter ski jumping hill was built on Cannon Mountain, near the Mittersill ski resort in the town of Franconia. Before the national junior ski championships scheduled for 1956, a 40-meter hill was built. This competition was the most important event in the history of ski jumping in this place. Currently, near the now closed ski jumps there is the New England Ski Museum, where you can see, among others, Olympic medals of the famous downhill skier Bode Miller.
