Already on 1988-01-29 the first ski jumping event in Minneapolis was held at Kenwood Hill, attended by 3000 spectators. Winner with a distance of 72 feet was possibly Mikkel Hemmestveit.
With the extension of former Glenwood Park (now Theodore Wirth Park) in the year 1908 a new ski jump was set up. 4000 spectators came to attend the opening competition, two days later even 8000 and the record distance was established at 102 feet. In February 1921 a new 50 feet tall inrun tower was built up. The ski jumping hill had then been used until 1970's, but today it is not existing anymore.

Wirth Park Ski Jump
This jump was the site of many wonderful competitions in the 50's and later. Franklin Dairy sponsored many jumping events, including the Silver Skiis and Golden Skiis contests.
I use to jump there also in 1950.
