A small hill called Pill Hill was originally created as a dumping ground for rocks and rubbish from the construction of iron ore mines. In the 1950s it was a popular place for winter activities of local youngsters, including Bobby Zimmerman, who grew up in Hibbing and years later became known to the world as Bob Dylan. The most outstanding sports facility at Pill Hill was a ski jump with an artificial inrun, next to which there was also a smaller natural jump. The history of the hill did not last long, after some years the area was parcelled out for the construction of residential houses and the inrun tower was demolished.
