History:
At Munising on Lake Superior there was a large ski jumping hill already in 1920's, with a big wooden inrun structure located near the old High School. Later there was a smaller junior hill with natural inrun at the same spot. It was used until 1980's, but then interest in ski jumping declined.
In end of 1960's there was only for a few years a new large hill with a big wooden inrun tower. It was located in the west of the town, just as Forest Inn Hill. There experiments were made with a surface made from broom bristles for summer jumping in June 1960.
