The Kubenbacken in Sundsvall was built by Kubikenborgs IF in 1936. On February 14th, 1937 the at that time largest ski jumping hill of Sweden was inaugurated in front of 10,000 spectators. Goesta Berggren jumped the record distance with 55 meters. Two years later Sven Selånger set the hill record of 65.5 meters. In 1955, the Swedish championships took place on the 60-meter hill, with the home club even winning the team championship in front of 14,000 spectators. In 1964, Kubikenborgs IF returned the ski jumping facility to Sundsvall municipality and in 1968 it was finally demolished.
