Alviksbacken in Köpmanholmen was a pair of ski jumping hills situated on a steep slope above the industrial settlement on the Höga Kusten in the Ångermanland region. There were two hills: a larger one with a K-point of around 50 metres and a smaller one with a K-point of around 25 metres. Today the area is forested and the hills no longer exist – only the shape of the slope hints at their former layout.
The best-documented episode in the history of Alviksbacken comes from 1947, when a distance record of 53.5 metres was set on the larger hill. It was achieved by Nils Johan Lundh, a member of the IF Friska Viljor club from nearby Örnsköldsvik, multiple Swedish champion and 1948 Olympian. The record was included in the nationwide register of major Swedish ski jumping hills, confirming the significance of the venue in the region’s sporting life at the time.
