The Måsberget ski jump in Gävle was built in 1951 by members of the Gävle Ski Club (Gävle Skidklubb), including Ture Edbom and Erik Magnusson.
Edbom was a municipal councillor (kommunalråd) in Gävle and an active ski jumper. He initiated the construction of the facility on Måsberget, recognizing the need for a proper ski jumping venue in the city. The official opening took place on February 18, 1951.
Also Magnusson was an experienced jumper from Gävle. During the inauguration of the ski jump, despite a snowstorm, he performed a stylish 29-meter jump and placed fourth in the competition. He later set the hill record with a jump of 41.5 meters. After retiring from competition, he served for 30 years on the ski jumping committee of the Swedish Ski Association and spent 25 years as a television commentator alongside Sven "Plex" Pettersson.
In 1955, the ski jump was modernized, and members of Gävle Skidklubb built a clubhouse next to it.
Ultimately, the hill was destroyed by a snowstorm in 1967 and no longer exists today.
