History:

The first ski park in Tranås was organized as early as 1928 by the then-manager of the Tranås carpentry factory, Efraim Samuelsson, who was well known in sporting circles and also served as chairman of the Småland Ski Association. In 1943, Taif (Tranås AIF) decided to build a ski jumping hill, and Olle Samuelsson designed and drew the plans for the facility. At the time, Samuelsson was also the chairman of the AIF ski section. An investment of 10,000 kronor was made into the construction of the inrun tower.
The official opening of the facility took place on February 15, 1948. The first competition was held at Junkaremålen that same day. Skiers from many towns, including Eksjö, Nässjö, Malmbäck, and Vetlanda, took part in the competition. The hill record of 40.5 meters was set by Björn Holm from Enskede. At that time, many talented athletes trained at Tranås AIF, including Sven-Gunnar Wolf, Rolf Norrwie, Arne Jonasson from Norway, and of course, Olle Samuelsson. In 1965, Sven-Gunnar Wolf was particularly dedicated and spent a great deal of time coaching young jumpers. Sten-Åke Norrwie was one of the best ski jumping judges in Tranås, and Rolf Sjöqvist and Kenneth Sjöqvist were other promising athletes, as were Sven-Gunnar’s two younger brothers, including Kenneth Wolf.
