The Hammarbybacken ski jump in Stockholm was built in 1919 by the sports club Djurgårdens IF and was the largest ski jumping facility in the Stockholm region. Initially, it had a K-point of 50, and in 1950 it was expanded to K60 to host the Swedish Ski Jumping Championships in 1951, which attracted around 30,000 spectators.
The hill record was 63.5 meters, set by Björn Holm in the 1950s. The ski jump remained active until the early 1960s, after which it was converted into an alpine skiing center.
Today, Hammarbybacken is a popular ski slope in Stockholm, operated by the company SkiStar. In winter, it offers five downhill runs of varying difficulty, a snowpark, a ski school, and equipment rental. In summer, attractions include SummerSki slopes, a climbing park, a mountain coaster, and more.
