History:

Kisovec in the municipality of Zagorje ob Savi is a youth ski jumping complex located on the slope of a former mining area in the Zasavje region. It consists of several hills of various sizes, including the main K50 (HS 55) hill and the smaller K25 (HS 28), K15 (HS 17), K10 (HS 12), and K6. All of them are equipped with plastic mats, and in winter they are artificially snowed, which allows for year-round use. The hills serve as the base of the Ski Club Zagorje – the Kisovec ski jumping section, which has been training young athletes for many years.
According to long-time coach Zvone Pograjc, the smaller hill of about 25–28 metres was built in the mid-1990s, and the larger 50-metre hill around two years later. At the beginning of the 21st century, the facilities were fitted with plastic surfaces, enabling regular summer training. In 2016, the complex underwent major renovation – the plastic surface on the two largest hills was replaced, the infrastructure was renewed, and the venue was prepared for year-round operation. The official reopening took place on 7 September 2016 and was accompanied by youth competitions attended by several dozen young ski jumpers.
Kisovec plays an important role in Slovenia’s ski jumping development system and regularly hosts national competitions, especially the regional Štajersko-Koroški Cup events as well as summer and winter youth competitions organised by the Slovenian Ski Association. Several notable results have been achieved on the K-50 hill – the current summer hill record is 53.5 m by Timi Zajc, the winter record is 51.5 m by Kristjan Lešnik, and the women’s plastic hill record is 51.5 m by Urša Bogataj. Earlier records were also set by young Slovenian jumpers such as Cene Prevc, Rok Justin and Jan Kus.
The Kisovec complex continues to be actively used and maintained, and the local club regularly invests in the modernisation of its infrastructure.
