In the village of Srednje Gameljne on the northern outskirts of Ljubljana, there once stood a small ski jumping hill with a K-point of approximately 20 metres. It was located in an area traditionally associated with winter sports below Mount Rašica. According to the recollections of Alojz Uran, a future archbishop who was born in Gameljne, a “Bloudek ski jump” operated in Gameljne, where he reached a distance of 18 metres in his youth; in the same interview he noted that the site was later built over and the facility no longer exists. The chronicle of the Smučarsko društvo Strahovica mentions that athletes of this club competed, among other places, on the hill in Gameljne, confirming that the facility served for local competitions and training.
