History:

The K8 ski jump at Osnovna šola Mirna was built in 2011 as part of a project to revive the long-standing ski jumping tradition in the Mirna Valley, previously associated with the Pod Radovnico hill and later with the complex in the nearby village of Zabrdje.
The facility was constructed at the initiative of Smučarsko društvo Zabrdje (SD Zabrdje) right next to the primary school in Mirna, as a small training hill intended exclusively for the youngest beginners. The official opening took place in 2012, with the first ceremonial jump performed by special guest Primož Peterka, one of Slovenia’s most successful ski jumpers. Immediately afterwards, a group of the youngest SD Zabrdje athletes presented themselves on the new hill, for whom it was meant to become the primary place for first attempts and learning basic technique.
From the very beginning, and to this day, the K8 hill has served solely a training purpose. It is here that young jumpers take their first steps, learning the fundamentals of take-off, balance in the air, and landing. All athletes trained within SD Zabrdje began their development on this hill before moving on to larger facilities in Ljubljana, Kranj, Domžale, Zagorje, Žiri or Planica.
The hill has also become an integral part of the sports infrastructure of both the school and the municipality of Mirna. It serves not only the club, but also school activities and local recreational events. The facility remains in good condition and continues to be actively used by the youngest jumpers of SD Zabrdje.
