History:

In Sortavala on Lake Ladoga, the largest lake in Europe, the first ski jump was built by Finns in 1927. The ski jumping hill was reconstructed in Soviet times. For many years the championships of the Russian Republic of Karelia were held on the 40-meter hill. Many Russian ski jumping veterans met there every year. In 2003 the facility had to be closed.
In 2016 the construction of a new ski jumping center began.
