The origins of the ski jumping hill in Bogdanówka date back to 2023, when the ski jump didn't yet have a permanent structure, aside from a wooden take-off. In 2024, Szymon and Jacek Kania, two brothers passionate about ski jumping, built the K10/HS12 ski jumping hill themselves, allowing them to jump in all conditions.
The new ski jumping hill in Bogdanówka was built in the fall of 2024 by brothers Szymon, Jacek, and Jakub Kania after the owners of the land on which the previous structure stood withdrew their consent for its continued use. The previous HS12 hill was partially located on land owned by other owners, and the planned expansion to HS16 was halted when the owner requested its immediate demolition. Therefore, out of necessity, the structure was relocated to private land. Construction of the new ski jumping hill began on October 21, 2024, and lasted several weeks. The entire project was completed thanks to financial support from ski jumping enthusiasts.
The new ski jump has a K-Point on 17 meters and Hill Size on 19 m, making it one of the largest amateur ski jumping hills in Poland. It is equipped with plastic mattings and inrun tracks, allowing for training in both winter and summer. In January 2025, the first official competition – the Bogdanówka Winter Cup – was held, attracting dozens of competitors. The hill has gained significant recognition in the amateur ski jumping community. Its development continues, with plans to build a smaller hill and establish a sports club that will further utilize the facility's potential. The construction of this hill is an example of the determination, passion, and strength of a grassroots initiative that, despite challenges, led to the creation of one of the best-equipped amateur ski jumping facilities in Poland. Even the youngest of the Kania brothers – 4-year-old Franciszek – and the rest of the brothers train there, forming a close-knit and enthusiastic team.
