History:

The sports facility in Wejherowo (Neustadt in West Prussia) has not existed since the late sixties. The ski jumping hill had a rather short history because it was only built in the 1930s. The initiator of the hill construction was Grzegorz Jankowski, sports representative of the district. In the coastal region, ski jumps were extremely unusual, these were also used by soldiers.
Combined cross-country skiing and ski jumping competitions were held in Wejherowo. At the time, these attracted numerous spectators and athletes, for example 52 jumpers took part in the 1956 competition. The best jumper in the senior class at that time was Franciszek Studnicki, who received a total of 196 points from both jumps. According to contemporary witnesses, the hill record is said to have been 40 meters.
The remains of the ski jump can still be found next to the WKS Gryf Wejherowo stadium.
