Lundkollen was built in 1984 at a time where the area did not have too many ski jumps. There was a lot of hope that the construction of the hill itself and the floodlights would make ski jumping more popular. Also the location, close to the football putch in Lundemoen and the club house was chosen deliberately, to put the sport activities into the spotlight. Especially in the early years, the hill was used frequently also thanks to groups from Strømmen and Lillestrøm.
