History:

The construction of Vikkollen at Mjøndalen started in 1912 and the inauguration took place on 1914-03-28 with a first hill record of 38 m. On year later Norway's Reidar Amble Ommundsen set up a world record of 54 meters on February 8, 1915.
At a competition in 1940 local hero Petter Hugsted jumped a fabulous hill record of 72 meters on the already in 1933 converted jump. After the Norwegian Championships in 1941 had to be cancelled due to World War II, the NM in 1946 was organized at Mjøndalen and Drafn with Nordic combined jumping on Vikkollen. Before the Olympic Winter Games at Squaw Valley the NM of ski jumpers in 1960 was hosted on Vikkollbakken and Ole Tom Nord won the title.
The last competition on Vikkollen was held in 1963, when Thorbjørn Yggeseth and Toralf Engan competed among others on the bakken in the Hovedlandsrennet. Three years later the inrun construction collapsed.
