The ski jump was located on the eastern shore of Lake Øvrevann, near the settlement of Skoganvarre in the municipality of Porsanger, roughly halfway between Lakselv and Karasjok. The hill was used by local ski jumpers from Finnmark – an archival photo from the Finnmark County Library shows Torbjørn Nymo competing in an event in Skoganvarre, and local recollections mention kretsrenn (regional competitions) held here alongside events in Alta. Contemporary sources from Finnmark also note that, in discussions about the development of ski jumping in the region, Skoganvarre was considered as a possible site for a “central ski jump for Finnmark,” although the details of these plans are not well documented today. The facility no longer exists.
