History:

In 1931, the city council of Riga leased a site near Lake Bābelīte (also: Bābelītis) for the construction of a ski jump to the sports club "Universitātes sports" for 6 years. At the end of 1932, the first trial jumps took place there. It was the first ever ski jumping hill in Latvia. Due to the construction of better hills in Cēsis and Sigulda, the facility in Riga lost its popularity among skiers. Probably the dismantling of the hill took place after a few years with the start of the construction of the power station.
