History:
In Kriškalni (near Pļaviņas), a ski jumping hill existed in the past. A local source describing the Kriškalni park notes that “formerly, a ski jump (slēpošanas tramplīns) was located between two hills.” The facility has not been preserved to the present day.
The hill’s record holder is listed as Tālis Pāvuliņš, one of the leading Latvian ski jumpers of the Soviet era, a multiple-time champion of the Latvian SSR, who set the Latvian national record of 102 metres in Bakuriani in 1972 during a USSR Cup competition.
