History:

In 1930, local mountain guide Ferdinand Glück set out to build a ski jump in Val Gardena. He had a supporter by his side in the wealthy British baroness Hulda Tutino-Steel, who sponsored many alpine activities. Tutino-Steel financed the construction of the facility, which was located at the entrance to the Langental valley. According to a commemorative plaque, which is particularly visible from the “Val” chairlift, ski jumping took place on the hill between 1934 and 1966. It was thus the first in Val Gardena and existed long before the far more famous and still-used facility at Monte Pana in the neighboring village of St. Christina.
