History:

The ski jumping hill at the train station, which was built in 1908, was the first permanent ski jumping site of Johanngeorgenstadt. After World War I, the hill was reconstructed and opened as Hanz-Heinz-Schanze on December 30, 1923. The hill had then been used only for a few years, until the new Hans-Heinz-Schanze - the largest ski jump of Germany at that time - was built in Schwefelbachtal at the site of today's Erzgebirgsschanzen.
