The Ackentalschanze was located on the northern slope of the Balsberg above the hamlet of Hamprechtsau, right next to today’s ski area served by the Balsberglift on the south-western edge of Unterwössen.
According to the chronicle of SV Unterwössen, a wooden ski jumping hill was already built in the Hamprechtsau area in 1934, and in 1937 the Achental Ski Jumping Championships were held on the hill in Unterwössen.
Today, the former hill’s site is used as a ski slope operated by the Balsberglift; no visible traces of the former ski jump remain in the landscape.
