History:

The ski jump in Ramsau bei Berchtesgaden, known locally as Reiche Schanze, was built as a club facility of Ski-Klub Ramsau and was officially opened on 16 December 1928 in the area of the Reschenlehen farm. It was used mainly for training and regional competitions and was one of the first winter sports facilities in the village, which already had strong skiing traditions in the interwar period. The most important known sporting event took place here in 1934, when the German military championships with international participation were held on the Reiche Schanez as part of a larger event organized in the surroundings of Ramsau and Berchtesgaden. Ski-Klub Ramsau itself maintained an active ski jumping section for many decades, producing, among others, future German champion Franz Eder, which illustrates the significant role ski jumping played in local sport. Today, the ski jump no longer exists, and there is no active ski jumping facility in Ramsau bei Berchtesgaden.
