History:

When the Olympic Winter Games of 1936 took place at Garmisch-Partenkirchen, skiers at Peiting where so fascinated of ski jumping, that they immediately decided to built a ski jumping hill at Peiting, too. Soon an accurate area was found in the Moosbach, left of Keppler’s lake, at a slope. Already in 1937 the 20-meter-hill was constructed and could be opened.
In 1960/61 there were plans to built a new ski jumping hill for jumps on about 55 meter. It should be built at “Pauls Viehweide”, at the northern slope of the Kalvarienberg. But it was never built because of the missing permission.
