Already before World War II and soon after 1948 there had been a smaller ski jump at Hauzenberg and that was the reason why the wish came up to have larger ski jumping hill. Therefore the US military wanted to finance 9,000 DM for the construction and then the Dreiländereck-Schanze was built up in 1951.
4,000 spectators accompanied the opening competition and watched the first hill record of Rudi Dufke (WSV Reit im Winkl) on 38 m. But then when the facility needed to be paid, the American occupiers left alone the TV Hauzenberg and they could not do the necessary impregnation of the jump. Then it even was dilapidated after about 10 years.
