The Na Stráni ski jump in Rýmařov is the oldest known ski jumping facility in the town, located on a wooded slope just above the centre, in the area of today’s Na Stráni Street, near the local scout cabin. It was built around 1920 on the initiative of the local skiing club, which grew out of the organized skiing tradition developing in Rýmařov since the late 19th century. It was a wooden structure making use of the natural shape of the hillside. Its contemporary name was Glierwaldschanze (during the German period).
In the interwar period, Na Stráni served primarily as a local training facility and as the site of small club competitions. After World War II its role gradually diminished. Skiing development in the region focused mainly on the cross-country trails in Strálecké údolí and on larger ski jumps, especially the one in Stará Ves. In post-war historical materials, Na Stráni appears only as one of two “smaller” ski jumps located directly in the Rýmařov area (alongside the later Strálecká ski jump), with no information about any further sporting use. Over time, the wooden construction deteriorated, and the ski jump ceased to function.
