History:
The Butořanka ski jump was the first ski jumping facility in Ostravice in the Beskids. It was built in 1914 on a forested slope above the village, in the area of today’s Butořanka trail junction on the eastern slopes of Smrčina, along the popular red hiking route to Lysá hora. Originally, it was a small structure with a wooden inrun tower and a K-point of about 17 metres, used until 1928.
In the same year, the facility was rebuilt. Its maintenance was handled by the TJ Sokol Ostravice club, which later constructed a larger ski jump on the nearby slope of Smrčina.
Butořanka has not survived to the present day – only traces of the former landing slope and fragments of the take-off structure remain visible in the terrain.
