The ski jumping hill at Červenohorské Sedlo, known as Keilbergschanze, was built in 1937 on the northern slope of Velký Klínovec in the Hrubý Jeseník range. It was created on the initiative of members of the Czechoslovak Tourist Club (KČST), which had already been organizing major skiing events in the area. As early as 1938, the first significant competitions were held there – KČST contests – confirming the hill’s quick integration into the sporting life of the region. Initially, the hill was about 54 metres long and was the largest ski jumping facility of its kind in the Šumperk and Jeseníky area.
After World War II, the facility was reopened and gradually modernized. In the 1950s, it underwent its first major reconstruction, and in 1959 it was fully reprofiled and expanded to size K67, becoming one of the most important ski jumping hills in the region. In the same year, during its reopening, army championships were held, won by the future Olympic champion and legend of Czech ski jumping, Jiří Raška. In the following years, the hill was maintained by the SK/TJ Šumperk club and served for competitions and training at least until the 1960s.
The facility was still in operation in the early 1970s, after which it was finally closed and dismantled. The area of the former landing slope was integrated into the developing Červenohorské Sedlo ski area – one of the main downhill pistes now runs across the former hill. Traces of the old hill profile can still be found today.
