The Lindwurmschanze ski jumping hill operated from 1927 until approximately the mid-1930s. The most important sources consistently indicate 29 January 1927 as the date on which the first jumps were made on the new hill, and from that day until the mid-1930s regular competitions were held there every year. One year earlier, on 10 January 1926, the larger HDW “Am Krieblitz” hill near the stadium had been solemnly inaugurated. The initiator of the construction of the Lindwurmschanze was the German sports association D.S.V.T. (Deutsche Sportvereinigung Trautenau) in Trautenau (Trutnov). A study on the history of ski jumping in Žacléř mentions that ski jumpers from Žacléř took part in 1928 in the season-opening competition held on the “trutnovský Dračí můstek (Lindwurmschanze)”, where J. Heinsch and W. Demuth placed 2nd and 3rd respectively in the main event.
The hill was located in the ravine between the districts Česká čtvrť and Nové Dvory, near Novodvorská Street in northern Trutnov. No physical traces of the hill have survived to the present day.
