The town Stachy in the Bohemian Forest is 30 km south of Strakonice and very near are the jumps of Zadov.
In 1954 there were two ski jumping hills built, a K40 with wooden tower and a K25 with a natural inrun. At about 1960 both were reconstructed after newest profile standings and the large jump now had a K-Point of 52 m and a natural inrun, too.
In the years 1978/79 a modern ski jump construction of K88 and K70 followed right next to the older ski jumps after plans of Ing. Belonoznik. The facilities set up got international certificates and from then on there were competitions every year for the “Cup of friendship” which were called later Bohemian Forest Cup Competitions.
In the 1980’s people were trying to set up a ski jumping centre just like in Liberec, but after the political changes in 1990 these plans could not be fulfilled. The last competition hosted by the local ski club TJ Sokol Stachy took place in 1996 and the hill record is held by Pavel Ploc with 95.5 m.
The former inrun tower has been conserved with help of the EU structural fonds and since 2015 it can be re-visited as a lookout tower. Furthermore, there is a climbing wall located at the tower and the nearby ski lift of Zadov is operating during winter.
