History:

The Becker Hill at Ogden Canyon in Utah was constructed in 1929 and inaugurated in winter 1930 by Alf Engen. The ski jumping hill was named after the former ski jumping promoter and brewery owner Gus Becker, who brought the Engen brothers to Utah and organized numerous competitions with them. Until 1933 very often thousands of spectators came to the hill to admire ski jumping professionals. But then Ecker Hill at Parley’s Canyon replaced the first large hill jump of Utah and until the end of 1930’s only smaller competitions were hosted.
