History:
In 1918 Peter Prestrud, Eyvin Flood and Anders Haugen constructed a giant ski jumping hill at Dillon, Colorado, which was opened on March 8 and 9, 1919 with two large competitions. At this tournament the Norwegian immigrant and local hero Anders Haugen jumped a new world record with 213 feet (64.9 m). One year later he improved his own world record at the same place again with one single foot on 214 ft.
