History:

Already in 1902 the Norwegian immigrant brothers Asle, Sigurd and Leonhard Seppala constructed a small natural ski jumping hill at Anvil Mountain in Nome, Alaska. The largest distance on this Dry Creek Ski Jump, which had been used until around 1913, was realized by Asle and Leonhard Seppala with 103 feet, after that ski jump was converted with a wooden inrun and stone-made takeoff in 1906.
