History:

The ski jumping hill of Obira was set up at the foot of the local alpine skiing resort in 1974, but is no more used in these days. Although the town is relatively small, many outstanding jumpers were originated from there. The most famous one was Masashi Abe, Gold medal winner of the 1994 Winter Olympics at Lillehammer with the team of Nordic combined.
