History:

Miruto is a small town in the mountains of Iwamizawa City on Hokkaido. In boom times of the local coal mining industries nearly one million people lived in this area.
The ski jumping centre at Miruto was built in 1977, whereby only Yoshiyuki Kuroyama did the construction works and set up the 24 m high steel inrun tower on his own. Since Mr. Kuroyama has trained many young ski jumpers, but in the last years interest in ski jumping heavily declined.
