History:
The Schwaz Ski Club was founded in 1921. Already in the winter of 1922-23, the first snow jumps were built on the Leitenfeld and the Schmadlfeld, as well as the Cordulaschanze (1927).
The Hubertus ski jump was built in 1926 along the main road in the direction of Pill. It was supposed to allow jumps of 40 meters and was inaugurated on January 30, 1927.
In the same year, the city of Schwaz was then responsible for the construction of an even bigger ski jump at Arzberg. The inauguration of the 60-meter ski jump at an altitude of 804 meters was supposed to take place on January 6th, 1928, but had to be postponed to December 25th, 1928 in the following winter. On January 12-13, 1929, the Tyrolean Championships took place there, with the world champion from 1925, Willi Dick, jumping a hill record. On February 1st, 1931, the Austrian championship was even held in Schwaz, for which the Arzberg ski jump was improved again. The German Walter Glass from Klingenthal won with a hill record of 53.5 meters.
Also in the area of Arzberg, the smaller Grafenast-Schanze was opened on January 31, 1932. Local hero Hermann Gugganig won. In 1934, guest jumper Birger Ruud set a hill record of 63 meters on the Arzberg ski jump. After the Arzberg ski jump was not used for a few years, it was repaired in 1937/38.
In this period, there was also a smaller youth ski jump in the Marterertal in the area of Pflanzgarten. This jump was revived again in the 1970s for a few years before the youth ski jumps in Gallzein/Gasteig were built in the 1980s.
