History:
In Barsness Park, a ski jump with a mighty inrun tower was built by the Glenwood Ski Club in 1911-12. In January 1915, a competition with the best jumpers of North America was held. In 1916, even the US National Ski Tournament was held there. Henry Hall won and the longest jumps were over 30 meters. In the following years and decades, the ski jump was still used, e.g., for the US Championships in 1923, the Olympic trials in 1924, and the Central Championships in 1926. Finally, it was demolished around 1962.
