History:

Those in charge of the Wandermere golf course near Spokane began with the construction of a ski jumping hill in 1932, which was designed by Peter H. Hostmark, President of the Northwest Ski Association, which should allow jumps of up to 60 meters. In January 1933, the Spokane Ski Club held its annual competition there, in which the best ski jumpers of Washington State participated. Despite the lack of snow, wind and great depression, 22,000 spectators came! The competition in the following year was also a great success, although the weather did not play along again. Another competition was held there in 1938, with Alf Engen jumping a hill record of 177 feet in front of 8,000 spectators.
After the 2nd World War, the ski jump was opened again for a jumping competition in 1954.
